I hope you don't take your journal down, but paying for another year of Dreamwidth is a Good Sign. I understand your reticence about writing in today's volatile climate, but it can be avoided or "carefully trod" using thought-out, though honest, verbiage! Frankly, (IMO) I think Facebook is worse, precisely because there's much less depth there.
