Dad has just arrived at the hospital in Windsor with Bo. The vet sent them there. Bo has apparently a lot of abdominal fluid and a very high white blood cell count.

He's been coughing a lot. About four weeks ago I insisted that Dad make an appointment with the vet. The vet said it was kennel cough, although Bo really hadn't been near any dogs. His only exposure to dogs had been on the first Saturday of hunting season which is the third Saturday in October. By mid-November he was in bad shape.

So, the vet gave us antibiotics. Two weeks later, Dad took him back and the vet gave us an antinflammatory to ease the coughing.

The coughing is now still just as constant, but it is down to a rough mostly-silent wheeze. He's now shaking and barely has the energy to go outside. He's been having accidents in the house and he's not the type of dog who does that ever. So, yesterday Dad called and demanded an appointment today.

Okay. The initial reaction from the hospital is that Bo is jaundiced, so he has some kind of liver issues. The reason for the weak coughing is because of the abdominal fluid. They are doing an ultrasound right now. They have told Dad that Bo is in pretty bad shape.

So, we wait. I'm with Mom.

Okay, 6:20pm now.

Still waiting on blood tests. Haven't talked to Dad since 4:30pm, so I don't know about the ultrasound. Brett said that he talked about Dad about 4:50pm and they were talking about keeping Bo for a couple of days.

6:28pm.
Dad's home now. Bo staying at the hospital. Bo's liver is having problems. More later.
