Need to figure out how to turn off the flash on my camera.
In any case, I haven't made this in ages and I was craving it. So, instead of chili, today I'm making Scalloped Potatoes au Gratin. Yesterday I retrieved my Le Creuset buffet pan from the basement in South Glastonbury and forgot it there. I picked it this morning.
Pictures!
Potatoes, freshly scrubbed and ready for slicing:

And then, the butter!

::rubbing hands gleefully::
Cheese, flour, Old Bay and half & half:

Cheese on the bottom of the pan:

Serious rouxage! (I loved the movie Twister.)

The composite. Layers of cheese sauce and potatoes and shredded cheese on top:

It's currently baking in the oven.

Date: 2011-03-19 11:59 pm (UTC)I found a "soft-flash" setting.
These were taken on the "Food" setting. Then there's Auto, Night, Landscape, Flowers, Portrait, Natural Skin Tone, Kids, Digital SR which says it's about reducing blur, Sports, Pets, Text and something called Frame Composite (no clue). Those are the modes.
It's a Pentax Optio A40. 12 megapixels. Trouble is, I don't know anything about it. But I should experiment some.
I did find the option to turn off the flash and the "soft flash" thing along with about six other things I can do with the flash (no idea what they do).
