Orange Mallow Yam Yums

Whatever you do, no matter your cooking ability, please don't commit this food travesty.

I once asked my SIL's mother to bring sweet potatoes to Thanksgiving. I don't know why I was surprised that this is exactly what she brought. When I ask her to bring a vegetable, she brings that damn green bean casserole.

Ohh... I don't know. I'm reeeeeally tempted, if I could do a tiny miniature version of it (ie, not waste an entire bag of mini-marshmallows which would be better used in mini-smores!)

Because that is just SO horrifying, I think it has to be experienced at least once.

no!! resist!!!

Although, think of what other dishes could go on that table. Crunchy Jell-O desserts, for example.

This is truly horrifying. Like something my ex MIL would make. We were once asked to dinner where the crowning glory - dessert - was Lime Jello Salad. Lettuce, carrots, you know, SALAD, *inside* a lime Jello mold.

Crunchy Jell-O --- Disgusting. The entirely wrong texture for Jell-O. Ugh.

Every year I made two crunchy Jell-O salads for Dad: the carrot/orange/pineapple salad. And the cranberry/walnut salad. Bluck.

Ohh, so it's...a Thing. Crunchy Jello. Alrighty then.

My friend Meredith (a different Meredith) and I named it that in a conversation a few years ago. I think they are technically a branch of aspic or gelatin salads, right?

STILL disgusting.
