I have a horrible weakness for fried chicken skin. I've had quite a few people express confusion about how I can (normally) not eat land animals, yet I still like the way they smell and taste when cooked.

Of course, they get upset if I do start explaining why I gave up land animals.

This would be why I normally don't discuss such things with people unless it comes up or they're cooking for me.
